Global Trade Base Press Releases
February 24, 2009 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Global Trade Base announces new client standards. The 2009 domestic economic situation has created a higher demand for foreign market penetration. More companies than ever are shifting from USA sales and putting their strategic funding into the expanding international growth markets. This business model shift among many domestic producers has created a demand on Global Trade Base resources. "The growth is a good thing," GTB President Patrick Donnell states "it is forcing us to add more staff to accomodate the international demand creating more jobs. But, it is also causing us to screen out companies who are not quite ready to go international even though that may be the only avenue to prevent them from going out of business. These are tough decisions as every company is made up of good people who deserve to tap into the profits created from international trade. We do not like to turn away companies who have gourmet and speciality food and HBA items produced in the U.S.A. The truth of the matter is that many smaller companies do not have production capacity, global awareness, or the growth potential to meet the international demands."More aggressive companies are moving quickly to capture market share abroad. These aggressive businesses are utilizing more GTB resources to go international leaving no staff time or resources for their slower competition. "Many smaller company owners simply struggle to get their understanding around international trade. They are skeptical and hesitate every step of the way. It is a long education process for them to make the necessary changes to their business model. The last thing that I want is to appear elitist when it comes to who will be represented by Global Trade Base. We genuinely value the hard work and potential of all domestic companies and know that every day requires adaptation as the market modifies around them. We simply have to put our internal resources around the most profitable and highest potential companies. This means a lot of companies will now be turned away. It will be a rare exception if we accept a client who does not meet our minimum requirements for international sales."
Significant analysis is being put into which producers will be accepted as clients. Those accepted will be offered the international business portal. GTB anticipates a 30% decrease in the number of new clients accepted this year while the strategic projection exceeds a 300% increase in international business. "We now have to choose who gets to go international. It is tough decision." Patrick Donnell, President
