Global Trade Base Trends
July 6, 2009 - The New Economy - EJ Spidell, GTB President
We are seeing the beginning signs of the emerging economy. Business practices previously used are not effecting the emerging business requirements. Remember, you cannot continue on as if it is business as usual. It is not. It is business as the new economy demands. The new economy is demanding international availability of domestically produced goods. There are significant indicators internationally that the demand for U.S. goods is increasing. We are projecting record growth in food exports for 2009. The preliminary estimates are already showing an increase from 2008, which was a record year as well.
I have had a realization recently. One really does not know how much another person does until they are doing their job. The same can be same here at Global Trade Base. My transition into the role as company president has been both challenging and rewarding. It is a source of both pride and humility to watch small and medium size companies grow into international markets.
We have changed some of our Corporate regulations regarding the total non-disclosure of client transactions. This has also opened up another business category for Global Trade Base. New clients will have the option of publicly announcing press releases regarding their products going abroad or other relevant assistance provided. However, some are still not willing to release their transaction information due to proprietary concerns and strategic growth plans.
It is nice to see some positive words about companies going international. Especially when a recent press release of ours was on the USA Today website. This definitely alleviates all concerns that we do what we say we do. This has overcome one of our greatest objections from the sales staff. (You wanted references, now you have them.)
Speaking of which, I would like to remind everyone that we are a fee based service. This will not change. Any companies who will not consider paying a fee for our service needs to refrain from sending us samples to evaluate and putting our staff through the motions when they will not become a client.
Let's work together and build a positive future. Focus on the end goal. Ignore the negative influences and work diligently to accomplish what you put your thoughts on accomplishing. Do this and you will survive the current economic challenge. Do this and your company will achieve successes as never before.
